These terms are between you and PaintedApp, LLC, which operates licencebook. Write to support@painted.app.

What you get

The Hosted Desk is $29 a month for up to 1,000 licence keys for one plugin of yours, checked against your customers' Stripe subscriptions and answered on the contract published on this site. The contract, the reference clients and the public key are free to read and copy.

What it is not

A licence check tells your plugin what a key pays for. It cannot stop someone who edits your plugin's code from removing the check, and it is not a copy-protection scheme.

Your customers and your keys

Keys on the hosted tier are made from subscriptions on your own Stripe account. You decide who gets a key, how many sites it covers and when one is revoked; licencebook answers what Stripe and your instructions say. Your customers buy from you, and their questions about a key go to you.

Fair use

Each address may make 60 licence calls a minute. A plugin that checks once a day and caches the signed answer, as the contract asks, stays far inside that.

Availability

The contract is built so an outage of ours switches nobody off: a plugin keeps its last signed answer for 24 hours. A month in which the licence calls were unavailable for more than a day in total is refunded on request.

Liability

licencebook answers questions about keys and does not sell, refund or support your customers. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Cancelling

Cancel any time from the link in your Stripe receipt; the desk stops at the end of the month you paid for. Refunds: ask within 14 days of a charge and we refund that charge in full; after that the month stands.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and the new terms apply from your next monthly payment.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Oregon, USA.
