licencebook is operated by PaintedApp, LLC. Questions about your data, and requests to see or delete it, go to support@painted.app.

When a plugin checks a key

A plugin sends four things: the licence key, the hostname of the site it runs on, the product name and its own version number. We look up the subscription the key belongs to and answer; we keep none of the four. The address the request came from is held in memory for one minute to limit each address to 60 requests a minute, and is never written down.

When a plugin activates a site

The site's hostname is added to the list of sites that hold a seat on that subscription, in a store run for us by Upstash through Vercel. The list holds hostnames only, never a person's name or email, and a hostname leaves it when the plugin deactivates the site.

When you subscribe to the hosted tier

Stripe holds your payment details, your email address and the plugin slug you gave us. We never see your card.

Cookies

None. This page sets no cookie, and the signature check on the first page runs in your browser and sends nothing to us.

Who else handles it

Vercel hosts the page and runs the licence calls, and its logs record each request's time, path and IP address for a short period under Vercel's own policy. Stripe holds every subscription and the metadata licencebook writes on it, which the method page lists. Upstash holds the seat lists.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@painted.app. We answer within 30 days.

How long

A seat list holds a hostname until the plugin deactivates that site or you ask us to delete it. Stripe's records follow Stripe's retention rules. Our own record of a licence and its payments is kept for seven years after the last payment.

Children

licencebook is a tool for people who sell software, and it is not offered to children under 16.
